Your Child’s First Visit to the Dentist

We recommend your child’s first dental visit should be between 12 and 24 months. The first dental visit is usually short but very  educational for mom and dad! What to expect? A quick knee to knee exam with Dr. Carr or Dr. Herzberg to get your child comfortable with coming to the dentist.  We will also make sure we answer all your questions about your child’s teeth, brushing, fluoride, diet, and overall oral health.

Best part?  We don’t charge until they turn 4!  Kids 3 and under are FREE!

Cavity Prevention

Most of the time cavities are due to a diet high in sugary foods and a lack of brushing. Limiting sugar intake and brushing regularly will help prevent cavities.

Tips for Cavity Prevention

  • Limit frequency of meals and snacks.
  • Encourage brushing, flossing and rinsing.
  • Watch what your child drinks.
  • Avoid sticky foods.
  • Choose nutritious snacks.
